A five-hour plane trip later, we arrive in California. Several days later, it's Halloween.
Unfortunately, I left without meeting up with Philbert, which sucks worse than anything has ever sucked before (excepting possibly dental work with a hatchet and molten lead). Leaving has been a largely negative endeavor for me in particular, having to travel to a strange new world and depart the life I'd established for myself; not to say that this move hasn't had an impact on the entire family in one way or another, but I was affected the most.
But enough about that - let's talk about its effects on the way we operate as a group. First, I'll only be able to contact you guys via phone, instant messaging programs, or this forum. It's not like I can just walk over to your face. Second... well, that's it, I guess. We're only separated by distance, and modern technology offsets its detrimental effects on communication. As for the projects Philbert and I work on together, however, we'll be using his fancy new server once I get my computer back and subsequently set it up.
Other than that, carry on as usual. Also, Oblivion rules.

Wow.
Oh, yeah, I'm trying to fix my server. It decided not to help me. Go figure.
Once I figure out how to get it working right, server will be up. Gimme a little while, and I'll set up SSH accounts for you. It's basically a user account on my box! The other advantage would be the whole being able to use a web browser such as lynx to download files to your home directory. This allows you to email yourselves some nice things and put them where Philbert's tidy little shell script can automagically locate them where they are most needed. This will allow you to upload things at your own pace.

Yeah, but telnet is like using something other than the General Lee to jump across a river.
I give, go SSH. Use CYGWIN, it works and it's free.
