Ok B!-tards, I'm proud to announce the attempted formation of a band consisting of myself and San and potentially one or two or three more people.
We don't have a name yet but last night we wrote up a big long list of cool sounding names (the vast majority of which were crap) which San should post relativly soon.
Right now I'm championing the name "Hallowed Silence"
The band as I invisioned it a month ago was to be a cross between The Cure and BLOOD and potentially some Samael.
Over the course of the month we have collaberated and refined our vision as San hates the Cure and my interests shifted more towards a Doomy sound. The real quetion now is the vocal direction we plan on going in. Do we do a more gruff vocal, or a distant whispered vocal, or perhaps a strong clean but deep voice? I kinna like whispered vocals myself, but we'll see.
The consumer launch of Windows Vista does not go as well as planned. A cult forms within Microsoft, meeting secretly in the catacombs beneath the Redmond campus. The cult is devoted to a mysterious text message that declares Bill Gates the Once and Future CEO and prophesies that Gates will return in Microsoft's time of greatest need, delivering stock options to the faithful, smiting the apostate,
Unfortunately, most^H^H^H^Hall matters music-related fall outside Philbert's realm. Names and other things wordy, on the other hand, are my specialty! "Hallowed Silence" seems like a pretty good name, but it is much too straightforward. You want to use some obscure synonyms to make the name seem much more complex and detailed, as that adds an air of sophistication and depth to the band. Also, some other small band out there somewhere might have already come across that name. Wouldn't want any confusion, now would we? Perhaps "Consecrated Muteness"? Of course, it does take a small bit of thought to note that Hallowed could be taken to mean Consecrated, and Silence (at least when dealing with music of some sort) requires a certain degree of muteness, or at least partial muteness.
As you can see, when it comes to music, I Phail. But for me, it's always language FTW.
Edit: My sister says "go for a clean deep voice!". As if her opinion actually matters...
